Pliska rosette
Pliska rosette
On the shiny red base obtained by the Iced technology, the Pliska rosette is depicted in silver - this is a Zippo lighter with a design specially designed for the Bulgarian market.
The rosette from Pliska is a proto-Bulgarian artifact found in the old capital of Pliska in the middle of the last century. It is a bronze medallion in the shape of a star with seven rays, on each of which two Proto-Bulgarian runic signs are depicted, and in the middle - the sign IYI, considered a symbol of the Dulo family.
There are numerous interpretations of its purpose and the meaning of the signs on it. The most widespread is the idea that the seven rays have a strong symbolic meaning related to the planets, the days of the week and the proto-Bulgarian gods. Whatever the truth, it is only certain that the symbolism of the rosette is rich and deep, and carries within itself a significance related to Bulgarian history, culture and identity.
